ico Shanti was born Asare-Addo Paul on Wednesday 15 th May 1985 in Tudu Accra.
Qwaku Picoshanti is an Afro reggae dancehall artist , media practictioner ,MC and a professional
Teacher.
Growing up in Tudu, Picoshanti attending
He later continued at Prince of Peace International School (Bubiashie Orgle Road).
After Junior High School, he attended La-bone secondary school where he discovered his music talent
and completed in 2003. After about fine years he enrolled in the Abetifi Presbyterian College of
Education. To study Education. He graduated in 2011 and branched from Education to study
Communication at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and graduated in 2019.
He now works with the Ghana Education Service as a Basic School Teacher and also practices his
journalism professionally at Ranking Family Multimedia.
As an artist, Pico has worked a few management outfits including Sent One Entertainment and Obibiniba
Entertainment but currently works as an independent artist. Amony-K , Qholabeatz, YJay beats, Kwese
Phantom and currently Shelly Vybz of Jungle yard studios are a few of the sound engineers he has
worked with and is still working with.
With inspiration from Osibisa, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Buju Banton, Capleton, Sizzla Kalonji, and Rocky
Dawuni; Picoshanti’s greatest wish and dream is to tell the African story in it’s originality with his
Gonggong music from Ghana .
