MUSIGA to Host Concert for Emerging Artists on March 6, Announces Bessa Simons

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced plans to organize a concert to showcase the talents of up-and-coming artists on March 6th, Ghana’s Independence Day. The event aims to provide a platform for emerging musicians to display their skills and gain recognition.

Bessa Simons, the interim president of MUSIGA, expressed excitement about the upcoming concert, highlighting its importance in promoting young talent. He mentioned that MUSIGA is collaborating with the Akwaaba Festival to host the show at the National Theatre forecourt, providing aspiring musicians with a stage they might not normally have access to.

Simons emphasized MUSIGA’s dedication to nurturing young talent and supporting the growth of Ghana’s music industry. He invited managers and corporate entities to attend the concert and consider collaborating with these budding artists, as they represent the future of Ghanaian music.

Additionally, MUSIGA is organizing a music and tourism workshop on March 5th, along with a health screening for musicians at the Accra Tourist Information Centre. The organization will also launch the “Let’s Play Ghana Music” project on March 11th, aimed at reigniting public interest in Ghanaian music. Another concert focused on promoting highlife music is scheduled for March 30th at the Gold Coast Restaurant.
