Owusu Frank Boateng, professionally known as Shelly Vybz, is an exceptionally talented Afrobeat and Reggae Dancehall artist, as well as a skilled producer. Hailing from Assin, Achiase in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Shelly Vybz draws inspiration from his rich cultural heritage and combines it with his musical prowess to create captivating and meaningful music. Born on August 1, 1997, Shelly Vybz discovered his passion for music at a young age and embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of 10. He nurtured his talent while attending Volta Barracks basic school and later pursued his high school education at Kpedze Senior High School in the Volta region. In 2015, Shelly Vybz made his official debut as an artist with the release of his first single titled “Yuh Body Perfect.” This marked the beginning of his musical career, and he continued to make waves in the industry with subsequent releases such as “Burn Dem” and “Cyan Pull We Down,” among others. His unique blend of Afrobeat and Reggae Dancehall elements captivated audiences and showcased his versatility as an artist. Driven by a desire to enhance his musical skills, Shelly Vybz enrolled in All Stars Media College, where he studied sound engineering. Equipped with a deeper understanding of the technical aspects of music production, he released his first riddim titled “Guidance Riddim” after completing his sound engineering course. This project featured approximately 30 artists from Ghana and Jamaica, highlighting Shelly Vybz’s commitment to collaboration and creating vibrant musical experiences. In recognition of his dedication and talent, Shelly Vybz was nominated for the “Best Student in Music” category at the CBAZE Awards 2017/2018, showcasing his growing influence and impact within the Ghanaian music industry. Throughout his career, Shelly Vybz has had the privilege of working with esteemed studios such as Gadzone Records and Jahlive Records. Currently, he is affiliated with Jungle Yaad Studios and has signed with Ranking Family Records, solidifying his position as an artist to watch in the Ghanaian music scene.
