The Shatta Movement Empire has issued an apology to the members of the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled after a video surfaced showing Shatta Wale allegedly mocking the disability of his colleague, Stonebwoy.
In a letter addressed to the GSPD and signed by Shatta Wale’s manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, known as Sammy Flex, the ‘Melisa’ hitmaker expressed regret over the incident. The letter clarified that Shatta Wale did not intend to ridicule or demean individuals with disabilities.
Sammy Flex explained that Shatta Wale’s actions were meant to highlight the importance of mutual respect and proper behavior, particularly in regard to Stonebwoy. The letter acknowledged that the wording of the initial statement may have been insensitive and apologized for any offense caused.
“We understand that the wording of the statement may have been insensitive and we acknowledge the concerns raised. It was not our intention to cause any harm, and we value and respect the contributions and rights of individuals with disabilities in our society,” the letter read.
The Shatta Movement Empire reiterated its commitment to respecting the rights of all individuals, including those with disabilities, and expressed regret for any harm caused by the incident.
