Meet Kweku Obeng Amoako, widely known as Linguakat, a prominent Reggae/Dancehall musician hailing from Kukuruntumi in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Born in 1980 to Mr. and Mrs. Amoako, Linguakat has become a household name in the vibrant Ghanaian music scene.
Residing in Dansoman, also known as Dansterdam, in Accra, Linguakat has devoted fifteen years to the music industry, carving a niche for himself as a skilled Reggae/Dancehall artist, songwriter, and composer. His journey has been marked by collaborations with renowned labels such as Samini Music, Ashanti International, Asasease Records, Extra Large Music, Grahim Music, Brainwave Music, and his current association with Drumbeat Entertainment.
Linguakat’s impressive career has seen him share the stage with global icons like Sizzla Kalonji, Anthony B, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Busta Rhymes, The Marleys, Samini, Ex-Doe, Muma Gee, and many more. Notably, he has performed in Nigeria and Benin, expanding his reach beyond Ghanaian borders.
With a discography boasting twelve hit songs, including “Carolina,” “Party Tym,” “Dancehall Groove,” and “Makuma,” Linguakat has earned widespread acclaim and substantial airplay. His track “Carolina” even gained international recognition when it featured on “Boss Up Vol. 3” mixtape alongside the award-winning US artist Don Mega.
As a testament to his commitment to the craft, Linguakat is actively engaged in video production, having released the first solo official video for “Carolina” and planning to shoot videos for “Go Down Mi Feely” and “Pretty Gal” in the near future.
